Maintaining A Strong Focus On Children’s Issues

I began my legal career in Massachusetts, where I graduated with honors from Western New England College School of Law. While in Massachusetts, I practiced family law and developed what was to become a lifelong interest in children’s legal issues and the effect of litigation on children. After relocating to Florida, I was appointed to the State Attorney’s office, where I prosecuted misdemeanor and juvenile cases for three and a half years.

Most of my volunteer and community work is with young people. I regularly volunteer as a judge for Florida’s high school mock trial competition, and I also act as a judge for Teen Court, which is a diversion program for juveniles charged with minor offenses.

I also served on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid and am actively involved in promoting their programs. I’m a sponsor of Girls on the Run, which offers running programs for girls to help them discover their athletic skills and self-confidence.

Courtroom Experience As A Former Prosecutor

I believe that my experiences all work to help me provide a more comprehensive and effective level of representation to my clients. My work as a prosecutor helped hone my courtroom skills. My work in community programs with children helps me have greater insight into what they want when they are facing transitions within their families.
